The Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Godwin Emefiele, announced to the general public on October 26, 2022, that with effect from Thursday, December 15, 2022, the new Naira notes would be introduced to replace the current 200, 500, and 1,000 notes. while the process will run until January 31, 2023.

Many Nigerians showed support for the policy, while others frankly admitted that it had been targeted at a particular politicians in the upcoming general election.

The uncertainty created by the poor implementation of the naira note has brought untold hardship to the general public. Especially the masses who happened to be at the bottom of the pyramid. And that leads to the destruction of properties in some places in the country.

Some schools of thought say that the CBN governor and his kitchen cabinet did not carry out an impact assessment on the implementation of the new naira note. Or they did not take certain things into consideration.

The motive for the sudden policy change

The president says that, the policy was meant to curb vote-buying by politicians. However, they have good intentions, but they allow the politicians to beat them to their game.
Because most of these politicians own most of the commercial banks in the country, they mob the new note, thereby causing a scarcity of the new Naira note.

Nevertheless, there is a negative and a positive side to the current situation. Therefore, some members of the public acknowledge that it is essential to look at the big picture of the new naira note’s implementation.

It is important to look at the monster the naira currency has created in the country, which has negatively impacted the average man on the street. which has denied ordinary Nigerians the benefits of God’s given resources.

Let’s look at it this way: the cashless policy with the introduction of the new naira note may reduce corruption in public offices and may also reduce menaces such as money rituals, kidnapping, vote-buying, etc.

Governors’ sudden love for the people

The governor’s swift reaction towards the new naira note came as a surprise to many Nigerians.

It’s a mind-boggling thought when you hear rumours going round that some governors starch away billions of naira in cash in their houses while their people are wallowing in abject poverty.

These governors did nothing when Fulani herdsmen were on rampage, killing innocent citizens all over the country, when ASUU was on strike for over 8 months, and even when the whole country was on lockdown as a result of COVID-19 and people were hungry but the food was hidden from them.

What about the #EndSARS protest when people were murdering in cold blood?

The governors did not speak against it, and those that spoke were in denial of the actual event that took place that day. They even accused the protesters of trying to overthrow the government.

Then the current fuel scarcity is biting harder every day, yet the governors did not deem it fit to go all out to fight the federal government to make fuel available for the people. How can they convince the citizens that the ongoing battle at the Supreme Court is in the people’s interest and not just their own?

Nigerian protest fuel subsidy removal in 2012

Remember the Nigerian protest over fuel subsidy removal in 2012?

Today, some people regret allowing themselves to be used by politicians and oil marketers. It is now clear to many that they were fighting for others to gain power and make more money, respectively.

Therefore, it is not far-fetched that Nigerians are about to be deceived into going on protests for some people to save their loot.

Don’t be surprised that protests and the burning of banks may have been instigated or sponsored by the people who want to preserve the loot, just as they did in Ojota.

However, the scarcity of the new naira note today may be used as an avenue to tell people to be out in the street for them to achieve their purpose.

There are people that are waiting for the ordinary Nigerian to go out and protest for them to cash out of the current situation. And they will do everything possible to cause chaos. It is necessary to understand the monster we are dealing with here. Protesting now absolutely will not solve our problem.

Freedom is staring at us.

The 2023 election is the real fight for freedom or to remain in the captivity of the politicians. They are using all the weapons at their disposal, from thuggery to religion, tribes, and ethnicity, to cage the people.

They will continue to tell people familiar lies in order to create a serious war within your heart. Emancipate yourself from mental slavery; nobody but you can free yourself.

However, you have the right to be free or not to be free; the opportunity is here, but the choice is yours. While the new 200, 500, and 1,000 naira are rolling out, be prepared to face the monsters, who are battle-ready.
